WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT:
Accelerate Montana is partnering with Gener8tor Skills to teach a free CompTIA A+ Certification Test Prep course to prepare Montanans for in-demand IT jobs. Participants will benefit from small, supportive cohorts and receive one-on-one guidance to achieve career success.
Commitment
The course will start on Monday, August 5th, and run until Friday, October 11th. Students are expected to take the CompTIA A+ exam within one month from the end of the course. Learners will need 10-15 hours a week for this course. Classes are asynchronous.
Cost
This pilot program will be provided free of charge with support from Accelerate Montana. After applications are submitted, each applicant will have an interview to determine eligibility. 100% of the costs for the course plus the cost to take the A+ exam will be covered by Accelerate Montana. This is a $3500 value. If students don't pass the exam on the first try, they will be responsible for paying for the retake.
Job Placement
This course is ideal for someone who is already computer savvy and interested in a career in I.T. The company doing the training, Gener8tor Skills, matches each student with a coach. They meet weekly via Zoom, answer questions, and help with the job search. They boast 69% job placement.
