About the Alliance

Launched in April 2014, the Montana High Tech Business Alliance is a nonpartisan statewide association focused on helping high-tech companies create and fill high-paying jobs in Montana. The Alliance currently has more than 200 member firms.

Full membership in the Alliance is available to for-profit firms engaged in high-tech and manufacturing that have operations in Montana. High tech is defined as firms that make or sell high tech products, provide professional services or consulting related to high tech, conduct e-commerce, or engage in manufacturing using skilled labor.

Organizations that are not in the high tech industry such as law firms, banks, or economic development agencies may join as affiliate members.

The Alliance is recognized as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association.

We also have a 501(c)3 nonprofit arm, the Montana Jobs Network, with a mission to help Montana’s next generation of technology workers launch successful careers. The Montana Jobs Network is governed by an independent board of directors.

Who We Are

Board of Directors & Staff

Our organization is governed by a Board of Directors composed of leaders from around the state, and we have a small but dedicated staff team led by an executive director.

Events & Networking

The Alliance supports the tech community by hosting networking events around the state year-round, as well as virtual webinars and forums. We also promote events hosted by members or partner organizations. Whether you want to meet peers, mentors or clients, raise funding, find talent, surface deals, stay on top of trends, or just leave your remote office and get to know your neighbors, our events are a great place to get connected.

We aim to be accessible for folks just getting started, so we offer affordable memberships to startups, students, transitioning veterans and new graduates. See our membership page for details.

What We Do

Marketing & PR

The Montana High Tech Business Alliance is the primary source for original research on Montana’s high tech industry and a trusted, third-party news source. We tell authentic, positive stories about Montana’s companies and tech ecosystem in a journalistic style. MHTBA is a top source for reporters covering tech stories and our members have been featured in in local and regional news and national outlets like like CBS, Venture Beat, Fast Company, TechCrunch, and U.S. News & World Report.

Our search engine optimized member directory and resource guides are also a great way to gain visibility and educate target audiences about your organization.

Recruiting & Workforce Development

The Alliance is also a source for top tech talent. Company memberships include unlimited jobs posted to our Montana high tech jobs board, which is curated weekly by our staff. Join at the Silver level or above and we will post the jobs for you. Jobs are distributed through a weekly email with a 40% open rate, and promoted on social media.

MHTBA has a long-term vision for retaining and upskilling our future workforce through targeted content that educates Montanans about career pathways, in-demand skills, training opportunities, and top tech employers.
