Call for Nominations: Montana High Tech Business Alliance Workforce Committee

The Montana High Tech Business Alliance is seeking members for its Workforce Committee. The Workforce Committee aims to grow the pool of skilled in-state talent, connect Montanans to high-paying tech jobs, and expand tech education in K-12 schools, colleges and to nontraditional workers. The committee is committed to equity and inclusion and welcomes nominees from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
Members of the Workforce Committee will help:
Match the skills needed by employers to talent
Inspire and engage audiences to pursue tech careers in Montana, or to help their loved ones get into tech
Provide valuable information to help audiences understand the specific steps they can take, and what skills are needed by employers, to get from where they are into a tech career
Showcase the incredible work being done by Montana companies and the high-quality job opportunities available in the state
Provide valuable information to Montana businesses that enables them to recruit and attract skilled talent
Connect Montana job seekers to the opportunities that exist
Expectations:
Committee members are expected to:
Attend and actively participate in bi-weekly meetings with the committee (Zoom, in-person occasionally)
Bring a collaborative, open-minded approach to identifying ways to increase awareness in technology opportunities in Montana
Volunteer for their fair share of “homework” assignments between meetings and to meet deadlines
Submissions:
Individuals submitting nominations and nominees must be employed by an Alliance member company. Self-nominations are welcome. The Workforce Committee and Executive Director will interview all nominees either by phone or in person as part of the evaluation process. Nominees have 7 days to accept or decline their nomination. The Workforce Committee will present a final list of candidates to the Montana High Tech Business Alliance membership for a digital vote with results to be announced at the member meeting to be held November 14, 2022 in Missoula. Nominees need not be present at the member meeting to be included on the ballot. Email christina[at]mthightech.org with any questions.
