On November 24 and 25, UM Computer Science Chair Doug Raiford and Professor Joel Henry, founder of Agile Legal Technology, ordered pizza for students and made room in their busy classes for hour-long information sessions with the Montana High Tech Business Alliance. UM Computer Science Professors Dan Lande and Rob Smith helped spread the word to their students as well.

Executive Director Christina Henderson was invited to promote Montana jobs and internships with Alliance member companies to more than 80 Computer Science majors - from Freshmen to Grad students - in three different classes. Henderson told students about several Montana tech companies, what they do, who they hire, and why they are great places to work. The presentation featured Alliance members that have posted computer science positions in the jobs portal and/or expressed interest in reaching CS students.

Entrepreneurial Computer Science students were encouraged to explore resources like the Blackstone LaunchPadStartup Weekends, and Frontier Angel Fund II. Mike Sparr, founder of Goomzee, also came to campus to share his experience building a Montana software company with Seniors in the capstone course.

The week prior, Alliance Board Chair Greg Gianforte, founder of RightNow Technologies and the Bozeman Technology Incubator, spoke to Computer Science students and faculty at MSU about the Alliance and the high tech jobs portal. Companies that wish to be included in future presentations or post jobs in the high tech jobs portal are encouraged to contact Christina Henderson.
