WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT:

The Hellgate Elementary Robotics Club is seeking volunteers to judge research projects for the FIRST Lego League (FLL) qualifying tournament on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

FLL is a global organization where elementary and middle school students build robots from Legos, program them to complete missions, and work on a research project.

This year’s theme is “Submerged,” where students have explored sea exploration challenges. Each team will present their findings and proposed solutions in a brief 5-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute demonstration of their robot and its programming/design journey. During the presentation, judges will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Judging involves completing a quick rubric and offering any feedback you’d like. You’ll be paired with one other judge in each session.

Volunteer Details:

  • Event Date: Saturday, January 25th

  • Judging Times: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (lunch provided)

  • Goal: 18 volunteer judges to help streamline the process

  • Training: Morning training will be provided by the head judge
